There are pros and cons about this experience. You cover a lot of ground in a short time, but it means many hours of driving per day. The accommodations we stayed at look very much like they cater solely to these groups, so don't expect to see anyone else, and definitely not locals. You're separated from local life for the most part, especially at the restaurants. When you walk into the restaurant chosen for you each table is a different bus group. If you prefer comfort to your norms, this may be great. If you want to experience the country, this won't offer it. The desert camp is nice, not sure I would call it luxury. The bus you take is very comfortable with wifi and USB charging available. Be prepared, your driver, and every single other driver on the road drives very fast, passing on blind curves, and overall taking very aggressive chances with your life in the car. We chose to drive ourselves for the following days just so we could avoid as much of this as possible.

This was such a great thought out experience! I do wish the dinner spots had more variety, I felt like I ate the same thing for three days and they weren’t great. We stopped at many places before reaching the desert, including Ait Ben Haddou which was beautiful and the people from the village were so nice. Once we reached the desert the camp was really nice. However, we had no hot water in our shared bathroom. Only two out of the four sinks had running water. The standard tents were extremely cold, and they provided no extra bed covers for us to keep warm. Despite that, our driver Mohammed was so kind and helpful. We ran out of cash and he gave us a loan until we were able to reach an ATM. In addition, he gave our little ones souvenirs. Our tour group was very great and my family and I, truly enjoyed the experience despite the camp/tent issues. The pros outweighed the cons. If you are considering this tour please opt for the luxury tent.

Could not recommend this experience enough! Youssef was our guide, and he was knowledgeable of the area, accommodating of our additional requests (pharmacy, stops for pics, beer pick up, etc). There was a fair amount of time driving BUT what a great way to see more of the Morocco "countryside", their way of life, all the small towns, the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara!! The stops were thought out, providing breaks, bathroom, coffee and food and accommodations for our two nights were great (and one less. Thing for us to plan!) The highlight had to be the camel rides in the Sahara to our 2nd night accommodations at sunset and a ride back at sunrise (make sure you bring layers!). Simply perfect. Do yourself a favor and do this activity, you will not regret it!
